Open Coil

This is the most widely used spring system within the bedding industry. It incorporates rows of hourglass shaped springs, which are joined to the neighbouring springs by a continuous small diameter spiral called a helical wire.

These open coil units are heat treated twice, firstly when the individual springs are formed and secondly when assembled, the entire unit is passed through a giant oven.
